Sharing Thanks We don’t have the space to print all of the thank you notes we receive for all of your efforts, but would like to share some of them with you so that you know how much your efforts are appreciated…. “I recently became a recipient of some of the baby items that were donated
to your facility. I have been placed on bedrest, and as a result, was in need
of some of the basics for our baby. This generosity has deeply touched the
hearts of myself and my husband and has come as a real blessing…” “Thank you very much for the gift of handmade layette and personals for our
son Benjamin. Ben came 2 months early weighing 3 lbs. 11 oz. He has totally
been a miracle baby…. You women and your gifts I believe are heaven sent,
just like Ben is.” “Thank you so much for providing RMH with quilts for needy preemie babies.
The staff was thrilled with the beautiful quilts and your fine work. We realize
they take time to make. We appreciate your labor of love. I gave one quilt
to a mom facing a difficult situation for her new little baby boy. She was
so appreciative. Thank you so much!”
“We at the Women’s Shelter sincerely thank you for your recent donation to
our program. Because of concerned people like yourselves, we’re able to provide
shelter and services to battered women and their children. Thank you for the
wonderful layette sets.” “Thank you. It was such a joy when I received your gifts. I was so excited
because they were exactly what I needed. Thanks so much again. May God Bless
You” “On behalf of the children and families served by the Children’s Home Crisis
Nursery, we would like to thank the group for its most recent donation of
newborn layette bundles. The items will ease the burden on a new mother to
provide for her new little one.” “I wanted to drop a line to thank you for the items we received…. We are
foster parents in Dakota County and had a newborn placed at our home. It was
so nice to get a bag with several outfits and other things. It got us through
the first few days. The love was seen in the work each of your volunteers
did. What a special way to honor our God!!” “Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in bringing the clothes
donation to our school. I have already distributed most of them. It is people
like you who make a difference!” “Thank you for the cute dresses.” (This note was sent along with photos of
Georgean, age 3 weeks, 2 lbs. 11 oz., modeling two tiny dresses made by Bundles
of Love volunteers; we do not have parental permission to post the photo,
but will circulate it to work meetings for volunteers to view.) “Just wanted to drop a thank you to all the wonderful people at Bundles of
Love. Your help was greatly appreciated.” “Recently our son was born and put in the intensive care unit at Regions
Hospital. He was not breathing when he was born and suffered some other stresses
during the labor. …We are truly blessed by God – our son has no signs of being
stressed and is totally healthy now. Before we left the hospital, we received
one of your care packages. Thank you so much for all the time and love you
put into your work.” Special Thanks Thank you very much to Belinda Ostrowski for sharing her talents by writing and/or editing most of the articles in our first Bundles of Love newsletter. Belinda let us know that she works as a public relations writer and offered her services. She did a wonderful job and we hope to have her help again with future editions.
Last, but not least, many thanks to Heather Malecha for taking many pages of articles and transforming them into an attractive and easy to read newsletter. Heather does this twice! - once for printed newsletters and a second time for the on-line version. Mile-a-Minute Quilt Days Our metro-area work groups have held three Mile-a-Minute quilting workshops, and many volunteers have learned this fun and easy technique for making quilts out of small scraps of fabric. In fact, some even finished more quilt tops at home. We also shared ideas for other scrap quilts to help with the need for quilt tops in the metro area. |
