Your Connections Can Help Bundles of Love!

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Bundles of Love. Whether you give generously of your time and talents or donate sewing materials or baby care items, your generosity is appreciated by others in the group, by the organizations we help, and the families we all serve.

Did you know that there is another way you can help? Bundles of Love needs to raise funds to cover the cost of materials and other expenses. Research shows that nonprofit groups are most successful receiving donations from foundations, corporations and community groups if our volunteers have personal connections to the potential funder.

If employees are involved in a charity, companies are more likely to consider making a donation. Likewise, those with connections to churches or community groups (e.g., Lions Clubs, Kiwanis, Realty Associations) are more likely to obtain financial support for what we do. Whether we receive $50 or $5000, every dollar helps us provide for babies and families in need.

We’re asking you to "put your thinking caps on" to help Bundles of Love raise approximately $20,000 in 2003 for materials, supplies and other costs to support our mission.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

• Do you have a relative who works for a corporation, or is a member of a group, that might give us a donation?
• Do you have a neighbor who will talk to her employee contributions committee?
• Do you have friends who belong to a community group that would hold a fundraiser for us?
• Do you have contact information for your local church or community groups’ mission/community service group, where we might make a case for volunteer recruitment and/or funding support?
• Do you, or anyone you know, have a payroll deduction donation campaign (such as United Way, Community Solutions, or America’s Charities) at your place of employment? If so, you can designate that your donation go to Bundles of Love.
• Do you, or anyone you know, have an employer donation "match" program, where a cash donation made by the employee will be matched by the employer? This can be a way of multiplying a personal donation to Bundles of Love.
