Welcome New Work Groups!
We’re thrilled to welcome the following new groups to Bundles of Love:
Minnetonka Work Group:
The new Minnetonka work group is already going like gangbusters! The group, led by Jan Winstead, held its first work meeting in July, where they tied 22 quilts and completed a number of other items for our bundles. The group plans to focus on tying quilts at the meetings, while working on sewing, knitting and crocheting projects at home. The group meets monthly from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, usually the week before the South Metro work meetings. By the end of their meetings, they plan to have a good supply of completed items for South Metro to use when assembling bundles. Jan is holding these meetings in her home. If you’d like more information, please contact her at

Margaret Hart recently started a work group made up of 8 neighborhood women in her South Minneapolis home. The women have known each other for many years and decided to put their skills to use for Bundles of love. Ruth Volk met the group for their first meeting to get them started and they’ve been meeting monthly ever since. During monthly meetings, the second Thursday of each month, the group cuts/irons fabric, assembles quilts, knits and crochets. Margaret mentions that they "also work through any pattern questions and spend a bit of time sharing [their] creative work." Finished baby items are delivered to the South Metro work meeting, held in Apple Valley the third Saturday of each month where they are assembled for delivery to local hospitals and other agencies.
Elk River / Rogers Work Group
Kim Graham, a new volunteer for the North Metro group has decided to start a work group of friends in her home in Elk River. She is anxious to get started, and hoping to have the first work meeting in February or March. Kim is looking forward to donating baby items to help families in her community. Teresa Wilts will be working with Kim to help the group get off to a good start.
If you’d like to start a work group in your area, please let us know. Work groups can be made up of small groups of friends and neighbors, or can be "open" to newly recruited volunteers from the community. We will work with you to get started and provide ongoing support and supplies as needed.
