Knitted Hat Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn
- Size 8 circular & dp needles
- Yarn needle
- 1 marker
Directions:
(3 months size is in parenthesis)
Cast on 60 (64) stitches on circular needles, insert marker, join being careful not to twist stitches.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3".
Work in stockinette stitch for 3" (3.5-4").
Decrease as follows (switching to dp needles or 2 circular needles after round 2):
Round 1: *K3, K2tog, repeat from * around (for larger size, end K4).
Round 2: Knit one round even.
Round 3: *K2, K2tog, repeat from * around.
Round 4: Knit one round even.
Round 5: K1, K2tog, repeat from * around.
Round 6: K2tog all around.
Cut yarn long enough to weave through remaining stitches, secure and weave in ends on wrong side. Fold ribbed section up in half to form cuff.
